The Holy Hierarch Nicholas, Archbishop Of Myra In Lycia

The Holy Hierarch Nicholas,
Archbishop Of Myra In Lycia.
In truth you were revealed to your flock as a rule of faith, an image of humility and a teacher of abstinence; your humility exalted you; your poverty enriched you. Hierarch Father Nicholas, entreat Christ our God that our souls may be saved.
You revealed yourself, O saint, in Myra as a priest, for you fulfilled the Gospel of Christ by giving up your soul for your people, and saving the innocent from death. Therefore you are blessed as one become wise in the grace of God.

O God, who didst adorn the blessed Bishop Nicholas with countless miracles: grant, we beseech Thee, that by his merits and prayers we may be delivered from the flames of Hell.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever.

Wasn't it St. Nicholas who punched out Arius at some synod or council?

Slapped him. Twice. At Niceea. Once for calling the Creator a creature, and the second for calling the Mother of God the mother of a creature.

Off topic, Lucian, but I couldn't get you any other way--I don't have your email address. I wanted to write to you about your conversation with LP Cruz. Email me at my address cumecclesia{a}yahoo.com.au

Lucian,

You are probably aware already of "math blogs" but I just discovered the whole concept! When I realized there was a place people talked about the Riemann-Zeta function, my mouth watered.

I thought, perhaps, you might be interested. Like with theology blogs, I can only lurk. I am fascinated but with no real understanding of higher math. I assume you have some affinity for these things (you link to Math World) so here is a link to a blog I found, which has links to many others. Some of them are hideous atheists but math is truth and it is always fun to discuss truth (or lurk and watch others discuss truth, like me).

If your habits already include math blogs, just ignore me!
