I still think you mistake Orthodoxy for humanity. The execution of the widow was an act you could portray in any village in Lain America or any small town in the US 100 years ago (or less).
A Mexican I know told me that in his town, this fella was molesting children in the local mountain villages. The cops caught him, but kinda stalled--so the townspeople busted him out and set him on fire.
Can't say I blame 'em.
